If you are on Twitter there is a good chance that you are one of the 1,010,084 people following Diddy. The thing is most of Diddy's most loyal followers end up on the road...less followed. In the early '90's Bad Boy was a Powerhouse full of the hardest spittin emcees, and most soulful singers.Nowadays it is more like a Warehouse of Shelved Emcees,Inmates,Drug/Alcohol Addicts and...Day 26(bitchassness). In a Jan. interview with Black Rob (who was serving a 2-6 year sentence for grand larceny)when asked if he was still signed to Badboy he stated,"Man I have no Idea,I haven't heard from them dudes."here Previously G dep was interviewed by WorldStarr hip hop and was reported to be "sitting on a park bench, wearing a brown hoodie and looking somewhat lost"here(unfortunately this video interview has vanished off the face of the earth). In the article Dep talks about his addiction and he also tells how he went to jail for breaking a T-Mobile phone display and could not afford a 750.00 bond and was held in Riker's Island for 23 days???SMH Then we have Shyne...Nobody can better explain his feelings on Where Bad Boy is at when you need them better than he can.
I am almost certain KC and JOJO may have something to add to this as well...Get at us we want your side! Written by MeedyMek

Have you ever heard of Joseph Kyselak? No? That is not too surprising. Even though the Austria-born magistrate is perceived nowadays as the ancestor of modern day graffiti. Kyselak was born in Vienna on December 23rd, 1799. His perspectives weren’t too bad for a man of his time. His Family was fairly rich and he was able to go to University. Anyway Kyselak obviously was far from too much career-orientated. Sometime in the early 1820s, Kyselak made a bet with a couple of friends in Vienna. He bet that his name would be known all over the Austria-Hungarian Empire within 3 years (a vast piece of land at that time) without inventing a new kind of suicide (in fact, the people from Vienna were obviously well known for commiting suicide in very unorthodox ways). What he invented instead was nothing less than modern-day “tagging”. Kyselak travelled all over Central Europe in 1825 leaving his name in bright red and black at each and every exposed place he could find. The tag “Kyselak” could soon be found everywhere. He painted it on churches and castles, rocks and trees, bridges and obelisks. And in fact, within a year even his betting partners had to admit that Kyselak had indeed become very well known all over Austria and that he has won the bet. But Kyselak could not stop. He started tagging buildings as soon as they were opened to the public. He was even asked by the police not to paint his name to a new Bridge over the Danube until the public opening ceremony was over. Kyselak agreed and waited one more week until his well known signature could be found painted on the bridge. Kyselak can be seen as the father of modern-day tagging since he did not do anything but paint his name on a wall. He did not create pictures or symbols, his nickname was enough. As in modern-day graffiti viewers don’t necessarily know what a tag means. It is just a name without an additional information. And that, indeed, makes Kyselak an ancestor to nowaday’s street culture. To make a long story short: Kyselak only became 31 years old. He obviously became fed up with this life and when the Cholera broke out in Vienna in 1831, Kyselak refused to leave the City. As it is a good way to get infected with Cholera bacteria he decided to eat loads and loads of unwashed plums and finally died of Cholera on September 17th, 1831. Eventually he did not only invent tagging, but also a weird new way to commit suicide.
So, I wouldn't consider myself a sneaker head like some of you out there, but I deffinantly appreciate some fresh footwear. Here is a dope documentary on the whole culture, only downfall is the lack of subtitles/translation whenever the French cat is interviewed. Pretty real when they start talking bout people getting jumped for their shoes though, cause I almost lost my life when I was 13 over my shoes! lol. But thats another story. enjoy

Waddup Gritty Fam!Welcome to the year of the Gemini(May21-June21).We thought it would be cool to show some love to all the Gemini that are Hip Hop Legends.Geminians walk the line between Genius and Insanity and it often shows in there life and work i.e Kanye West.
Lauryn Hill,Andre 3000,Jada Kiss,Ice Cube,Kanye West,Big L,Biggie and Tupac are just some of the emcees that fall under the sign of the Twin. What is even crazier is that over half the names on this list are no longer with us.Biggie,Tupac and Big L all died at the age of 25. There is definitely a gift and a curse to being a Gemini...RIP
So, I came across this cat several years ago, and immediately was down with what he is repping: The truth. Sun is deffinantly on the spiritual tip, so if your not awake, it might fly over ya head. Peep his myspace by clicking title of post
Yo Yo YO!!!! This is a dope interview with the Teacha KRS speaking on the "state of the union" so to speak. Like I said the other day, looks like the NWO just has a more sellable face to make the public more apathetic and pay even less attention. But we will see, I HOPE that I am wrong on that, but so far it's not looking good. REAL CHANGE is gonna create REAL CONTROVERSY and make the people who really run "this shit" very angry. DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN THE PHYSICAL!!!! ALL HUMANS ARE SOULS IN FLESH!!! But not all of us are in it for the COMMON good. ANYWAYS, Figured I'd post this up since he's putting it down in ATL 2mmrw night with Buckshot and LOTS of Local Talent.
The Gritty Committee attended the Rally for Troy Davis on the steps of the State Capitol in Atlanta,GA. Troy Davis (a Savannah, GA native) has been on Death row for a crime he did not commit for the last 17 years?!?!(SMH ) There were a lot of speakers and Politicians there but not NEARLY as many as there should have been.
Hopefully this video and Message from Troy Davis will bring you closer into why this is such an important cause. Troy’s life has already been spared in the 11th hour 2 times and his case is currently being reviewed by the Supreme Court. Please get the word out to as many people you know. You can even text “TROY” to 90999 for updates on his case and rally’s in your state.
A LEON CRAFT is taking heads to the mother ship and dropping them off on Planet DECATUR. The Gritty Committee first caught wind of this cat a few years ago on the “I don’t like the look of it” video by Da Backwudz. He has been putting in Major work every since. We caught him performing at the Bench in Atlanta for “The Art of Storytelling “Show on 5/15/09.Peep the Celestials.
So, hopefully, those of you reading this know who Basquiat is, but if you don't, this is an introduction to one of my favorite artists ever. I found out about him when I saw the movie "Basquiat" based on his life and mostly his transition from being on the street to millionaire artist almost over night, when I was probably around 14 yrs old. Almost immediately after I emerged myself in his work and his story and always felt like we were very similar spirits. If you haven't seen that movie I suggest renting it, most likely from your local Indie video store (doubt Blockbusters, etc. carry this anymore) like Videodrone here in ATL. Below are some of my favorite clips from the movie and at the bottom is an interview with the real Basquiat. R.I.P.
